When Gundersen and Bellin merged to form Emplify Health, they faced a defining challenge: unify EHR education for 14,000+ employees during an Epic consolidation project — two training cultures, one deadline.

This session explores how a blended, workflow-embedded learning strategy scaled enterprise-wide during Project Fusion, and what the outcomes show when education, informatics, and EHR experience data are aligned.

  • 66% reduction in nursing onboarding time through asynchronous learning
  • 43% less in-person training time as educators shifted to workflow coaching
  • 13.1-point Net EHR Experience Score (NEES) improvement overall
    • 15-point higher NEES for physicians using embedded learning vs. non-users
    • 7.3-point higher NEES for nurses using embedded learning vs. non-users
  • 333% rise in active users accessing learning content at peak merger activity
  • 890% surge in content views, growing to 100,000+ monthly at go-live

Attendees will leave with practical strategies for scaling a hybrid learning model, using analytics to continuously refine content, and measuring the real impact of embedded EHR education on clinician experience.

  1. Learn how a blended, hybrid learning strategy can be scaled across the enterprise to support an Epic-to-Epic consolidation, by measuring adoption, engagement, and reach across roles, departments, and care settings.
  2. Identify practical strategies for aligning education, informatics, and experience data to continuously refine EHR education and improve clinician readiness during change.
  3. Evaluate the impact of workflow-embedded, self-directed learning on EHR satisfaction and experience, using Arch Collaborative survey data to compare outcomes for clinicians who engage with education versus those who do not.
